Reducing government spending is the key to getting a handle on the deficit, and the core issue in the reduction of government spending is the cost of government employees.

As of this date, the government employee pay scales and benefit packages far exceed comparable jobs in private industry. This is a change from just the opposite 20 years ago or so when government paid less and their benefits were much less expensive. So what has happened to change this?

The big change that was made was to allow public service employees at all levels of government to unionize. Now, there are millions of government employees in teachers unions, fire fighter and police department unions, large administrative unions like the SEIU, etc. which are now, basically driving the cost of government from the city level all the way up to the federal level. While union membership in private industries has been dropping in the last 30 years, the public service union membership has been growing at fast rates. One of the key players in this move is Andy Stern who has been leading this effort to build up the public service unions with strong support from the Democrats in our governments.

Government at all levels have an unsustainable financial problem largely because the salaries and benefits of active employees and the benefits of retirees are growing at an unsustainable rate. The revenue coming in from a shrinking number of taxpayers is less then what is needed to run these government entities. Our liberal/progressive friends have, and continue, to attempt to solve these financial problems by raising taxes, not cutting costs. They consider it political suicide to cut the cost and spending of government.

A major reformation of the government salary and benefit structure coupled with reduced spending on existing government programs is needed in order to attempt to bring these financials back into some level that is workable, but, the opposite is happening. Instead of attempting to renegotiate union contracts and cutting spending, these government entities are taking money out of the general fund to pay these salaries and benefits (taking it out of one pocket and putting it in another) and are raising taxes of all kinds in an attempt to meet financial commitments and are not only not reducing the cost of government but are actually causing it to increase.

Politicians have proven over and over that they cannot balance a budget or run a business. They have no interest in alienating their voter base by cutting their benefits or government handouts. These public service unions poured millions of dollars into the Obama election and they expect to be rewarded by being allowed to continue doing what they are doing including these exceptional salaries and benefits.

So, it is clear that we need leadership in all of our government entities that will take on this charge of challenging these unions to either renegotiate their salary structures and benefits including having union members now contribute to their pensions and medical benefits, or face having their unions broken like Reagan did the air traffic controller union when he was in office.

It has to be done, or we are just pxxxing into the wind.

Are there any real leaders out there willing to take this on?? We are behind you all the way.

For interested parties a new caucus is being formed called , "RECLAIM AMERICAN JOBS.? The American people need to fight back against the illegal immigration occupation, before it too late. Our nation is suffocating under the relentless invasion, that our politicians have ignored for decades. For reasons beyond most peoples understanding, they have blocked any successful way of restrictions of foreign nationals, that have swarmed into every community in this nation. The numbers from government sources and other biased sources proclaim there are only 10 million, with numbers dwindling. However nobody in there right mind believes these numbers, as they have drudged up consistently over the last 10 years ago, without any change.. Tuscon Border Agency says for every one person, that is apprehended 9 disappear into our country. My guess by that, the numbers are infinitely far more. In the neighborhood of 20 to 30 million. 8 million illegal workers at the least escaping detection in the job market and that's why we need E-Verify?

Perhaps that is why our government has sided with the business sector, to just identify--ONLY--new hires. Therefore, millions are not discovered, because they are already working somewhere.undetected. Federal, state county and city don't want you to know, who has already slipped past any enforcement process. I suggest that's why E-Verify has become a menace to corporate welfare. But E-Verify had gained plenty of momentum, and the Democratic leadership led by Sen. Reid, Speaker Pelosi couldn't slip it past public awareness or popularity amongst HONEST BUSINESSMAN. Even Republicans cannot shift the whole blame on Democrats, as equal indifference must be attributed to both politico's.. Of course we always need exceptional highly skilled engineers, scientists, technical personnel, but we certainly do not require semi-skilled workers, or non-skilled, low income, poor foreign nationals who will become a public taxpayer charge, as it is now?

Now we the American people must contend with another Amnesty, Assuming President Obama can force it through. but who pays for the millions already here, or those who try to slip past before the signing. Another amnesty just means more will try to get here, thinking a third will be past at some future date. Not just the overworked border agency, but expired tourist and students at airports. So much is involved in processing new immigrants, that the whole weight falls on the taxpayers. Once here they can sponsor more family members, including those who would spend uncompensated time in emergency rooms. Another burden for luckless taxpayers. Just read the predicament the Sanctuary State of California. http://mexicanoccupation.blogspot.com/2010/03/shocking-reality-of-los-angeles-under.html

This really is the time when jobless American or any citizen and legal resident needs be a member of RECLAIM AMERICAN JOBS caucus. Only together can we stop this travesty of our immigration laws? Whatever our party consideration, we need to make it clear to all politicians that America belongs to THE PEOPLE-not to the open border demented fools, pariah businesses or the politicians themselves. There are three main enforcement tools within the United States. E-Verify, 287(g) local police alien enforcement and ICE raids. Reps. Lamar Smith (R-TX), Gary Miller (R-CA) and Sue Myrick (R-NC) have formed the Reclaim American Jobs Caucus to raise public awareness of the connection between illegal immigration and unemployment. To pressure the Obama Administration to vigorously enforce the laws against the employment of illegal aliens, work to implement legislation that will protect U.S. jobs from the impact of illegal immigration (especially to make E-Verify mandatory) Working to defeat legislation that will put U.S. jobs at risk from the impact of illegal immigration (especially to defeat amnesty.)

The Tea party movement have many objections to the Republican usurpers and the majority certainly don't agree with Dick Armey. But then Steve Poizner would be a great win for California, as he promised he would halt the draining of public entitlements to illegal aliens and give full reign to ICE to investigate and place in detention the millions of foreign families living illegally there. Certainly Governor Schwarzenegger did nothing and allowed this epidemic to spread statewide. California taxpayers have been shoved to the back, when they voted for Proposition 176--eliminating benefits to illegal families. The schools system has slowly deteriorated to the bottom rungs of performance with crammed classes of illegal immigrant children and the inability of teachers to offer a decent education to the offspring of American parents. In the last decade the prison system has been the place of last resort, for the rising crime rate of illegal immigrants from across the globe. Border state hospitals including California are overrun by illegal alien families who cannot afford to pay, leaving the bill for the taxpayers to collect the tab.

Go to numbersusa.com to learn the ropes. Don't forget to call your Senator or Representative at 202-224-3121. Don't forget to give your state incumbent lawmaker an ultimatum; NO RE-ELECTION VOTE. We are a sympathetic people, but Americans must come first and any lawmaker who represents the illegal immigrant, must be kicked out of office. This is not mean-spirited, this is survival of our nation, our flag and our language. American jobs for American people. Learn about the rampant corruption at Judicialwatch.org. OVERPOPULATION is another hidden issue, that will cause major environmental problems by 2040.

How right you are. You are correct in saying it starts with Obama and flows down. Americans need to realize that all that's happening - bad policies, unconstitutional bills, etc - all flows from Obama. He is quick to say we need to stop spending - when he's the biggest spender in history. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth. Americans need to wake up or we are afraid our America is doomed.

What is scary is when you have this kind of work mix in our government, it is what they do not know that causes us grief. Most of those working are reasonably intelligent (giving them the benefit of the doubt) and should want to do a good job, however, they will continue to make rookie mistakes because they do not know better. Couple this on top of their zealous drive toward socialism means that they will screw that up as well. It is a no win for anybody. Take the latest healthcare bill as an example. It is a poorly written, overly complex bill and the dots do not connect on any part of it. How any of this could ever be visioned as a "good" bill is rediculous from almost any point of view (liberal or conservative).

So 92% of the {President's cabinet have never really worked in the private sector let alone manage people or a budget. They have no experience setting up a team or putting a vision and a supporting plan in place to attain anything, let alone running the most complex government on the planet. What they do is work from the perspective of theory without any direct experience in how the theory is applied or actually works in the reality.

We are definitely in trouble. It starts with Obama and flows down. If he had any real experience, he would have picked cabinet members that had the right experience instead of his cronies or other people his staff wanted in these jobs who are not prepared to do the job. This causes chaos and problems at all levels when you have so many learning curves in play all at the same time.

When I was reading some of the blog comments on some of the other websites, it is interesting that the perception out there by many liberals/progressives of anyone against this healthcare legislation is that they are conservative and against anything that the Obama administration or the current congress is doing. They do not get it that all of us see the need for healthcare reform to address the major problems, but are against, basically, a government takeover of the healthcare industry. If this legislation was focused on the two or three major problem areas, and affordable to our taxpayers, then everyone would be in favor of it. It is so blatantly poorly formulated and biased toward government control that it has required extortion, pay-offs, and a nonuniform implementation policy to get even the Democrats in the Senate to vote for it. It has so many special interest exemptions and pay-offs that it is a mess, and now we are all going to see more of the details, and get even more distressed.

To me, we have now gotten an open view of how our government operates, and it is not very pretty. The corrupt nature of how legislation is developed and passed within our Congress is actually sad to see, and is not very democratic. It is a form of anarchy or tyranny that is not healthy for the country. When Reid and others in Congress just pass this off as "business as usual", that comment alone, tells us how far it has gotten and how corrupt the process really is.

We need "Change" in Washington, however, Obama's version of "change" is basically to push us more in the wrong direction and deeper into cronism and the corrupt nature of politics. Something has to change soon or we will begin the slide into socialism and the loss of America as we have learned to appreciate and love.

I was watching FOX last night and the Governor of Nebraska (who is Republican) wants Nelson to change his mind in the next round of voting (scheduled for tomorrow morning) and admit that he agreed to a deal that the majority of Nebraskans do not want. If he were to do that, it would stop the Senate bill in its tracks until after the holidays. Maybe he will realize how greasy this whole process has become and retrieve his reputation and honor by changing his vote.

The so-called "Death Board" aspect of the bill has been written so that this government healthcare oversight agency is exempt from any form of repeal later by Congress. How sneaky is that? Once they are in there, they cannot be taken out later so that no matter how the healthcare legislation is maodified or changed later, the federal government can still set the rules of the road.

Let's hope that Senator Nelson has a Christmas present in mind for us and votes NO tomorrow.

The so-called “Death Board” aspect of the bill has been written so that this government healthcare oversight agency is exempt from any form of repeal later by Congress. How sneaky is that? Once they are in there, they cannot be taken out later so that no matter how the healthcare legislation is maodified or changed later, the federal government can still set the rules of the road.

Let’s hope that Senator Nelson has a Christmas present in mind for us and votes NO tomorrow.
